What Remodel Plan Gives You a 97.5 Percent Return on Investment

HomeAdvisor just released their Remodeling 2019 Cost vs. Value Report breaking down the all kinds of remodeling projects to assess which one gives homeowners the best ROI (Return of Investment). Although you may want the brand new kitchen or a large walk in closet, if you plan on one day selling your home, you may want to consider a garage door conversion.

Looking to remodel?

The report shares, “the near-perfect return on this project (97.5 percent) is because it improves both a home’s beauty and functionality. Faulty garage doors can cause flooding, threaten your home’s energy efficiency and provide access to burglars. Garage door updates also function as aesthetic upgrades.”

What’s great about this home improvement project is that is considerably on the more affordable side of remodels. “A separate HomeAdvisor survey put the average all-in cost of a garage door installation at $1,080, which includes the new door itself, labor, new tracks and all associated accoutrements.” A tip though if you’re one of our friends in Nevada or Colorado, consider a double layer door for insulation in the colder months.

It may not be the shiniest remodel to take on but for affordability and investment, it might be time to consider this upgrade!
