According to Zillow, the average home price in California has gone from $307,000 in 2012 to $708,000 in 2021. In the last two years due to COVID-19, the market has seen a huge spike in listing prices. There has been a 24% increase from $573,000 to $708,000.

With these prices, it may be difficult to find your dream home that checks every box. We have found the most affordable towns in California to move to that aren’t dumps.  These towns’ average home prices are under $500,000 and the houses that we found are around the $450,000 range.
